First game of the season:
Without any training or preparation the boys travelled nervously over to Tomlinscote for their first rugby fixture not knowing how things would go.
Thankfully everything was really positive, despite arriving slightly late. With three key points in the focus from Mr Green, the boys went out and implemented all three superbly.
The first game saw Simon F using some dazzling footwork and speed to score a breakaway try, however some sustained pressure from Salesian A meant that they equalised and the game was a 5-5 draw.
In the second game something ignited the boys as they cruised to a 20-5 victory over Salesian B with some big tackles, high work rate and good hands out wide.
In the final game a few injuries for the opposition meant we went down to 8 a-side so this created more space. We took an early lead 3-1, however due to substitutions we got a bit muddled and lost our rhythm so ended up losing 6-3 to Tomlinscote.
An excellent first outing of rugby and we are looking forward to getting out to training ona Monday after school to work on some key skills.
Mr Green.
